Non-Repeating Header Row

I am using Word 2007 and checked the past discussions on this topic. Despite
turning off Text Wrapping and trying various formatting options suggested,
the single header row in my table that I'd like to have repeated on every
page still does not appear. Ideally, I'd also like to utilize the "keep
with next" function, but I think that it would only be a pipe dream. Right
now, I'd just like to have the header rows. Any suggestions?

Yes. Can I create a header rown on an existing table? I'd like the header
row to be at the top of all pages.

Well, I don't understand what is stopping you. Have you marked the first row
as a heading row? In Word 2007, you do this by selecting the first row and
clicking the Repeat Header Rows button in the Data group on the contextual
Table Tools | Layout tab. Note that the "Header Row" check box in Table
Style Options on the Table Tools | Design tab merely applies the formatting
assigned to a header row in the table style; it does not cause the heading
row to repeat.

automatic page break comes right after the header and so I get an empty
header line at the bottom of one page and then the header repeated and the
table below it on the next page. I seem to recall there is a setting
somewhere that tells Word not to strand a header row at the bottom of a page
in this condition. Can you help me?

Format the heading row as "Keep with next" (on the Line and Page Breaks tab
of the Paragraph dialog) and make sure that the following rows (if they are
too many to fit on one page) are not all formatted as KWN.
