Try using a different view to look at your document. Might help to see
what's happening with document using the show/hide button too. If it's a
section break it will show in the View, Normal layout and you need to click
your cursor on this and then click delete.

If this isn't the issue then worth checking the paper tab on the Page Setup
button to check that the paper size is set to letterhead or A4 etc...
