The Minimize button is on the title bar of the document window. Do you not
have a title bar (the one that says "<document title> - Microsoft Word")?

What version of Word is this? What version of Windows? If Word 2002 or 2003,
what is the setting of the "Windows in Taskbar" check box on the View tab of
Tools | Options?
