insert a dot leader in a line

I am doing a directory with names and I want the telephone number to be on
the same line - flush right with a dot leader.

I can't find the dot leader in the tabs. I work in Word 2007 and can't find
the format heading. On the left tab and the end tab - no sign of the dot
leader. I did use the information you wrote with my word perfect program but
can't seem to find it in Word.

The easiest way to get to the Tab-formatting panel is to double-click
on the ruler. (It'll also put a tab stop at the spot where you do it,
but if that's not where you want it, just move or remove it in the
usual ways.)

It shows you each of the tabs in the paragraph you're in. Select any
of them and you can change its alignment and its leader, etc.

You'll find the same panel in Modify Style under Format (or also as a
button in the Format Paragraph panel).

In fact, there are two other ways:

- Because the keyboard accelerators from Word 2003 still work, you can
press Alt+O and then press T to open the dialog.

- You can right-click the Quick Access Toolbar, choose Customize, set
the category in that dialog to Commands Not in the Ribbon, and add the
"Tabs..." item to the toolbar. (Unfortunately this is one of the
buttons that don't have a specific icon, but instead show a green
circle.)

Once the Tabs dialog is open, the selection of leaders is the last set
of option buttons.

Yet another way is to click the arrow to the right of Paragraph on the
Ribbon, then click the Tabs button on the bottom left of the dialog
box.

The easiest way if you often set tabs is to add the command to the QAT
and open the dialog box with the Alt + keyboard shortcut.

With the caveat noted in

"...if you access the Tabs dialog this way, the settings you choose (even
though they may be intended for a single paragraph) will be set as the
document defaults and will be applied to the Normal template (Normal.dotm).
This egregious bug was corrected by Service Pack 1, so if you have applied
SP1, this will not be a problem."
