Scans are graphics. You need to convert to text if you want to edit. Your
scanner software probably includes an OCR application, or use Microsoft
imaging.

How do I go about converting it to text. Can you give me step by step
details, so I print it off and save for future use.?

Thanks

You'd be better off reading the Help files for whatever software you plan to
use for the purpose. If your scanner provided some OCR software (they
usually do) open that and click Help. Or go to Start > Programs > Microsoft
Office > Microsoft Office Tools > Document Scanning.

That is all going to depend on your scanner, the software you use to scan it
in, the version of that software, and probably a few other factors. I'd
suggest reading your scanner's manual or the Help file within your scanner
software.
