macros replaced by some bluetooth

Hi,

I have been having this bizarre issue with the customised toolbar in word
03. I have a few macros that i would like users to be able to access. So i
created a new toolbar and placed it as one of the toolbars. Then, the macros
were added to it. This was done in normal.dot template. It worked beautifully
for a while until recently, those macros in that toolbars went missing and
were replaced by some weird names (I think they might be bluetooth). Didn't
know what to do. The only way i could think of was to go back to Normal.dot
and do it again from scratch.

I wonder what caused it and how to prevent this in the future (because this
is already the second time this same problem has arisen)

Thank you in advance

Without knowing exactly what the error messages were we would only be
guessing at a cause, however if you want to share macros and a toolbar, it
is no use putting them in normal.dot as this file cannot be shared
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=811468 You should save them in a document
or add-in template.

Hi Graham,

I did not get any error messages from Word. It's just that when i clicked on
the customised toolbar button, none of the items in the dropdown list were
macros but "lulu", "others". This was the reason i did not post the error
message.

Normal.dot was not shared across the network. What i did was i created those
macros and toolbar on my Normal.dot. The template was then copied locally
onto a different computers (replacing the local Normal.dot with my Normal.dot
on each of the computers on the network). So i don't think it's shared
(correct me if i'm wrong)

Thank you in advance

Are you able to send me a copy of the normal.dot template that displays
these issues? If so, send it to the link on the home page of my web site. I
can imagine no means whereby your macros and/or toolbars can be altered in
this manner.
