How to convert Word to HTML with footnotes?

Can anybody help me?

How can I convert large document with many footnotes from doc format to HTML
format? If I try do it with Word97 I lost footnotes. It is not good for me.

You could upgrade to Word 2000 which will convert the
footnotes to endnotes and create a two way link.

Given the cost of the upgrade versus your time it may be
the easiest and most cost effective.

You can also download Microsoft's HTML filter which
removes all Office XML and HTML markup.

We have written a very good Word to HTML conversion (available commercially)
which might help as it can handle footnotes in two basic ways. It is
designed primarily for legal documents, but if you can send me the whole
document or a subset, I will look at the issue and report back, possibly
with an example. No cost or obligation for this.
