I downloaded a PDF file and cannot figure out how to open it in WORD. I
would like to also save this file as a DOC file.

Are these two processes possible in WORD97???

I very much appreciate your help!

PDFs don't "open" in Word; they open only in Acrobat. I've never needed
them so I'm not sure, but I think there are third-party products that can
convert (within limits, of course), PDF to RTF.

After you open your PDF in Acrobat, you can (unless the security settings
have turned it off) select text and copy it into Word. Formatting will be
lost, of course, but you will have the text.
