No task bar, menu bar or toolbars

Word 2000 has lost all bars including menu, task, and toolbars. There
doesn't seem to be any way to get them back. The normal.dot seems to have
disapeared as well. I copied one from another computer but this has not
worked. I also ran office setup and did a repair. I then uninstalled office
ran the office erase utillity and removed the office directory. I then
reinstalled office again and I still have the same problem. I thought I
might have a virus but have run 2 different anti-virus programs and they
both came up clean. Can any one help.

This is quite a common problem with a fairly straightforward
