A weird thing has started happening this last few days with MS-Word (v97).
I can start a new document but cannot open an old one.
In a new document if I try and paste into the new workspace or if I try and
access "page setup" or if I try and open an old document I get the dialog
box with an error. "There is not enough memory or disk space to complete the
operation".
I have made no changes to my system other than load PWS, which I suppose is
the culprit in someway.
In other applications I can have several windows open and run several
applciations at one time, I can print, change page setup, cute and paste
large blocks of data, scroll whatever, these include other MS-Office apps
such as Excel. no problems.
I have tried using word by closing down everything and just having word
open. I have re-booted.
All no joy.
If I try and run Msinfo32 from the HELP - ABout Word - System Info box,
MSinfor32 abends with error..
MSINFO32 caused an invalid page fault in
module <unknown> at 0000:00000009.

It appears Wordpad doesn't work either because I ran DrWatson and created a
log file but Wordpad won't start.
I run Windows 98 SR2, 128Mb ram and don't have any problems normally
running3 , 4 or more apps simultaneously.
Any idea whats wrong and how I can fix it? Thanks.
Insufficient memory is a possible symptom of the nimda virus .

Thanks for this. I downloaded a check & fix prog from Symantecs website and
ran it. Sure enough it said it had found the virus.
I had already deleted and reinstalled MS-Office which looked as if it had
fixed it but I thought when I saw your post I better give the system a good
check over.
It seems to have found several "instances" of infection and has fixed them.
Anyway, all seems fine now.
Thanks again..
