Word has no control over what paper sizes are offered. This list is
generated by the printer driver. You can check your printer manual to see
what paper sizes it handles as standard. Anything else must be defined as
custom. It's possible that when you use A5 you will have to use a different
feed position. If worst comes to worst, experiment with printing A5 on A4
till you figure out where it prints, then just set up an A5 text block on A4
paper using larger margins as needed to get the print area in the right
place.
Also, could it be that you have portrait selected when you need landscape or
vice versa? It may be that you need to rotate the paper to print in the area
you expect.
