The location of the Word\Startup folder can be found under
Tools/Options/File Locations and the Office\Startup folder will be located
in the installation path for Office.
Word 2000 can have COM add-ins, those that are added in via the Registry
rather than the Word\Startup folder. To determine this, add
the COM Add-In command to your toolbar.
- Right-click any toolbar and select Customize
- On the Commands tab, select the Tools category
- Locate COM Add-Ins on the right
- Drag/Drop to a location of your choice
For more information on COM Add-Ins, see this article:

I was hoping to find someone on the newsgroup who could
let me know if this bug has been cured yet, and if so,
which update or service release the solution is in.
If anyone else can help with this, please let us know.

I suspect that the article you found is not due to the problem you are
encountering. :-)
A run-time error means that the application has encounter an error during
the time a macro is running.
The article you found is more developer specific. It was written for those
who are automating Word and encounter the described error.
Take a look at my reply to Steve in this same thread and see if that
resolves your problem.
