Hi,
I am running word 2000 with XP.
there are two problems, firstly the page down button on
the side scroll bar will not work.
Secondly, when I have saved some work in word, I then
save using the icon and then wish to exit using the x in
the top right hand corner. The text disappears and after
approx 10 seconds an error message appears telling me
word encountered a problem and did not close properly you
may have lost your information.

Any ideas
Regards
Denis

denis,

try opening word another way. go to start, run and type
in there "winword /a" without the quotes. then press ok.
try opening a document, make some changes, save it with
the icon and close out of Word. if that works, give me an
email and i'll let you know how to fix it.

Pogi,
Thanks for the input, I found the fix from an exact fault from a post a few
days ago - I have copied and pasted for the benefit of others.
It worked for me.
I have XP home, Word 2000, Norton Internet security 2002 and Adobe Reader,
they will all now play happily with one another after following Beth's
advice.

If you have Norton AntiVirus and Adobe installed then the error is due to a
conflict between them. Adobe has now provided an update that should take
care of this:
