Microsoft Word won't save as

I try to resave in save as to rework a file or document,
the computer freezes and then the Microsoft word heading
and footer flashes at me and it won't save.......also
there is some weird Templet error thingy

The flashing title bar and Taskbar button indicate that the Save As dialog
has opened behind the Word document window and is awaiting a response from
you. According to MVP Beth Melton:

This can be caused by one of two issues:

1. Word is started by using the Quick Launch toolbar in the Windows Taskbar.

2. Norton AV is creating a conflict.

Fix for Issue 1. Obtain SP2 for Office XP. Note that SP1 needs to be
installed first. As a workaround, do not use the Quick Launch bar to start
Word.

Fix for Issue 2. Disable the "Office Plug-in" option in Norton. Go to
"Options" and then select the "Miscellaneous" section.
