trouble with word 2003

on my work laptop am using office 2003,
On print layout view, all my images, wordart, table of content, page number,
hyperlinked text etc, comes up encrypted.
how can i solve this problem?

At a guess, on the Print tab of Tools | Options, clear the check box for
"Field codes."
