WMIC NPF not found in service

I use the command 'service where name="NPF"' and I get 0 instances. I can issue net start npf. Using WMIEplorer shows NPF as a service so I know it must be there. I use it for other services without a problem (e.g. winmgmt). I opened the dos prompt with run as admin.
