When in win2k, I am the administrator and my son is a power user. Both of us
play online games (Gamespy arcade, RTCW and MMOAA) fine. REcently moved to
winxp with a clean install. Since xp's administrator cannot be used, I setup
as administrator type. There is no power user in xp, so I setup my son as
"Limited user". After re-installing these 3 software in xp, I can play fine.
But my son cannot. Messages from these software seems indicate that they
tried but failed to write to their directory. The first thing in my mind is
my son's id may not have the right to write onto their directory. But there
is no other user type to use. Any idea?
