XP & Flat Panel Monitor

I just installed XP on my computer, but I also have a
flat panel monitor. When I get to the icon page all I
get are swirly graphics and can barely see the icons. I
remember someone stating that you have to use a Function
Key several times and then adjust the "hertz" settings.
Does anyone know which function key that is? Thanks

I suggest booting into safe mode and setting the
resolution to 800x600 and 60 Hertz to begin with. You can
tinker from there. The LCD's don't have the annoying
flicker of a CRT (standard monitor)>.
