HELP My Printers Icons Keep Disappering

I have lost all my ability to Print from XP. All my printer icons
have disappered including the abilitym to add Printer. I am
desperate. TIA

In Control Panel: delete all your printers, delete
all your
LPT1 ports, all Parallel ports, all com ports and
delete
all other highlighted hardware which means it does
not work.

Restart your computer, but before Windows XP
starts goto your BIOS and make your parallel port
as EPP Auto, and com ports all Auto, do not
allocate any Interrupt to any ports and let
Windows XP
automatically select resources.
Continue booting to Windows XP.
