When running the WindowsXP "Error-checking" tool under properties on my
internal hard drive, I can find the report by going to
Start>Run>EVENTVWR.MSC and looking at the Winlogon file. The problem is
that when I run this same tool on my USB external hard drive, I cannot find
a report of the results.

Where can I find the "Error-checking" report of what was found or done when
the "Error-checking" is run on an external hard drive?

Thanks for any help or thoughts.

Unless you have an operating system installed on that drive,
there will be no such report.

Thank you for your response. Is there another way to determine the
condition of the external drive that you can review?
