modem driver....help!

Apologies for cross posting and if this has been asked a thousand times
before.

I've had XP installed but now it will not recognise my Ambient Ham modem.

I've searched the net and found lots of people with the same problem, but no
answers.

Can anyone please tell me where I could find the updated drivers and
precisely how to install them as I am not very technical.

Any help very much appreciated.

I do have the Intel Ambient HaM PCI modem. When did you get yours and do you
still have its CD? the CD has the WIN2000 modem driver.
The drivers on CD in folder \Driver\Win2000 . It is usable in Win XP.

I got mine quite a while ago (July 00) and I'm not sure I still have the CD
(if I do it would take a few hours of looking in the loft!)

It's best to get and look on that CD. Next best, use XP Device Manager/then
your modem, and attempt driver update and point it to your XP CD, to search
for updated driver.
Last resort, http://developer.intel.com/design/modems/support/drivers.htm
and look at ham412win2kxp.exe .
Make sure modem is PCI V90 with the Ambient chipset.
Make certain to use XP System Restore to "save" a restore point before
changing drivers.
