I've got 4 computers on the network. One computer is
running XP Pro, XP Home, and 98. I would like to be able
to do remote desktop sharing and share applications
remotely. I know XP Pro has the Remote Assistance. I am
wondering if I can enable Remote Sharing and have another
machine connect to it remotely using a web browser, or
any remote viewer to control the XP Pro machine?

I never used the Remote Assistance so I don't know what I
can or cannot do using Remote Assistance.

You need to enable IIS on the XP Pro box in order to do this. If your behind a router/NAT/firewall
you would then need to forward TCP Port 80 (IIS) and TCP Port 3389 (RDP) in order to use the web
based method of Remote Desktop access. Open "Help and Support" and search on "IIS" for help getting
IIS running. Over your local LAN call using the LAN IP of the IIS box. Over the public internet,
from a remote site, call using the public IP of the router/NAT/firewall. Note that some ISPs block
access to TCP Port 80.

Look at these pages for help with Remote Desktop.
