I have a 4 computer home network... i'm the only one running XP on mine... all other 3 are using win ME and i have used the XP disc to configure networking on the others and that doesn't help and I still can't figure out why its not working... my computer name is chanser and its visible on all other computers but when i try and connect to it it says i must enter a password to connect to \\chanser\IPC$\ does anyone know what i might be doing wrong? I have my network using dhcp if that means anything. Any help or directions would be appreciated. Thanks

You need he password to the guest account, the IPC$ is a administrator share, hidden. If you use the password for a guest account it should work.
