A holiday video
Millions of videos and possibly billions of photos are taken every year as
people go on holidays either locally or overseas. With the social media
sites like face book then sites such as youtube and imgsrc many of these are
uploaded for the enjoyment of family and friends and in some cases such as
youtube available to the whole planet.

Whilst photos are mostly of good quality and interesting scenes, it is
unfortunate that videos tend to be less interesting due to little thought
that their composition, action and framing.

Firstly let's get rid all the concept of standing at one's own height then
filming, then zooming in and out to capture close UPS while still filming.
Secondly don't only film when the subject is aware of the camera or posed.
If we want to an interesting holiday video that family and friends will
treasure and watch over and over again consider the following points for
your next holiday video.

1. Plan your video to avoid unrelated footage from and to maintain
continuity.

2. Increase the interaction with other people and cultures

3. Take footage where the subject is unaware.

4. Don't take all your footage from one point. Get down low, film from
higher up, use natural or manmade objects for framing.

5. Use a tripod where possible and film more then you need.

6. Create moods such as busy, romantic, exciting etc..

7. Only keep the best and most interesting footage in the final video,
ensuring continuity.

Try these ideas on your next holiday and amaze your friends.
