can not change display picture

i have tried to change my display picture but for some reason will not change
i have tried everything.i was told i have probably got a virus or spyware on
my p.c i have ran every scan and and spyware detection available to man and
nothing is there..so what am i doing wrong i have two users on my p.c and
there display pictures can be changed fine it is just mine i can change the
colour no problem but will not allow my to use pictures...please can anyone
help getting a bit bored of just color

What do you mean by display picture ?
My guess : Wallpaper

Where are you changing that ?
I guess you are trying to change that from Display properties > Desktop but the
Background and Browse section is grayed out ?

Please tell that i am correct or not.

hi
that is correct but even if i have a picture i want to display as
background i could click to set picture as desktop background but now nothing
is working

I'm searching for answers to a similar problem. If I open the "Display" in
control panel and try to change anything I lose my desktop picture and it
turns to gray. If I go into display /desktop I no longer have the option of
putting in pictures. I System Restore to get it back..............last pic
restores but picture option is still gone. I'll try to keep watching your
results.........Anyone??????
