ERROR: -1603 FATAL ERROR DURING INSTALLATION

When I install the software for management gives the following error

ERROR: -1603 FATAL ERROR DURING INSTALLATION". Consult Windows Installer
Help (MSI.CHM) or MSDN for more information

1) Click Start > Run
2) Type msiexec /unreg and press enter and wait until it appears to have
finished.
3) Go back to Start > Run
4) Type msiexec /regserver and press enter.
5) Try to install 'management' again.

Hi Mark
I am getting a window with the header title: "Feature transfer error" and in
this window is the message: Consult Windows Installer Help (Msi.chm) or MSDN
for more information.

This is in relation to my attempt to install Act! by Sage.
I am using Vista Ultimate.

Would you happen to know please what I may have to do to get over this
problem please?

couple of weeks i ran into same problem during installation of xp in my
pc after searching on the net i came across this link and i came to know
that the culprit was RAM

though at first i could not believe it because the error it throw ed
was totally unrelated any way have a look in this direction
