I've been trying to deinstall some popcap games and can't use the control
panel de install to get them out of there. I can't reinstall my game from
the cd, either.

I tried Shift+delete and that did not work, either.

Go to each game directory, there should be a file called
something like "uninst.exe" or "remove.exe" in it, try running
that. You will still probably have to manually delete the
directory and maybe some ini files you created, but that's
normal (shouldn't be, but is).

I can't even begin to imagine what you tried with that.

If you /can't/ get rid of them, just leave them but rename the
directories where you originally installed so the program will
happily create a new directory of the same name and install
properly.

Might want to do a search of the registry and delete all
references as well before the re-install.

Backup things first - shit happens.

try your steps in safe mode

--------------

or try restoring your system via
system restore

back to the time before installing
the games.

afterwards just remove their
folders under the program files.

Do they not show up in Add/Remove Programs, they show up but the
Remove button doesn't do it (what happens)....

Click Start, Run and in the box enter:

msinfo32

Click OK, and when the System Summary info appears, click Edit, Select
All, Copy and then paste the information back here.

There will be some personal information (like System Name and User
Name), and whatever appears to be private information to you, just
delete it from the pasted information.

This will minimize back and forth Q&A and eliminate guesswork.

Can you give an example of one you can't uninstall? I will install it
and maybe figure out what the deal it.
