Windows XP repair in a loop

The last couple of time I tried to repair XP from the CD it ended up in a
never ending loop. It would go through the "installing drivers" then reboot
and go through the same thing again, and again, and again...

Disable ACPI in your BIOS settings, (if available)
run setup again, and press F-7 at the 'Press F-6 for RAID' prompt.
This will disable ACPI and enable APM
