Hi:

I want to remove permanently the IEEE 1394 Network
connection and it's associated devices, without removing
the IEEE 1394 hardware, so that I can still connect any
IEEE 1394 hardware but no IEEE 1394 Networking.

I've even tried deleting the nic1394.sys, but it appears
again, when i connect something to the IEEE 1394.

How can i permanently delete it??

Thank you

José

no need to delete, go to device manager, right click on this device and choose disconnect or disable

He is not only wanting to have the 1394 network adapter disable, he also
wants to remove the setting from the Device Manager. IEEE 1394 (Firewire)
network adapter is an extra device that XP is load and if we do not need it,
some of us would like to remove it completely from our Windows

As Yves said, i don't want it disabled.
I want to remove it permanently from my system, so that
when i plug a IEEE 1394 device, such as my Digital
Camera, I don't get the IEEE 1394 network device
connection On.

It's somehow blocking my digital camera from operating
normally.
Everytime i delete it from the device manager, it comes
right up when i connect any peripheral to the ieee 1394
port.
I want it removed completely so that this does not happen
again!!!!
