Found one here. The thing is, being a generic, it could
have more than one brand name stamped on it. In this
case, the brand is "Kinamax". The resolution is 640x480,
although the adverts have varied a lot in terms of the
resolutions they quote for the thing.

They put "Sabrent" on the packaging on this page. Product
model number seems to be WCM-6LNV. This page also has
a driver.

The driver is off-site, so this could be the company
making the sensor or the USB controller chip.

The driver download is 17.8MB, at 11KB/sec.
Vimicro makes USB camera controllers. Only some of them
are UVC compliant (those wouldn't need a driver, for
the most basic operations). Two thirds of their products
are not UVC (USB video class), so need the driver. I expect
the ones at the top of the page, could be used to make
dirt cheap webcams.
