Hello,
I'm trying to find some information about a file structure called Xenix
BBT. I was converting to NTFS from FAT32 and the power died. I was using
partition magic, version 6. When it came back up it looked for a found it's
stopping point. Then, it finished converting it. It said that it was
successful. However, the partition now says that it's Xenix BBT and I can't
find it in windows.
Someone Please help me recover this crazy thing.
Thanks in advance,

Dan McGrew

XENIX is an old version of UNIX that used to belong to Microsoft. They sold
it to SCO decades ago... Not sure what the BBT part is and I don't know
what the partition id would be for that it either...

Hopefully this info will help you track down what you need to know.

Well, your drive is now in the wrong file system. You need to delete all
your partitions, create new ones and format them NTFS. Partition Magic 6
is not compatible with Windows XP. You need Partition Magic 8.

Isn't there a third party application that will let me read information from
this drive, so that I can back it up and then wipe it clean and start
over...

Thanks,

Dan

XENIX filesystem do not have a similar file structure as Windows. XENIX is
an Operating System and will read the drive. XENIX is obsolete and is not
readily available. Your data is as good as gone!

I used Rashish Boot Manager and it worked... I changed the MBR from
Xenix to FAT32 and it booted up in Windows ME, just like it was supposed to.
Now I'm going to use windows XP's conversion tool instead of Partition
Magics...
The downside is, I've already ordered Partition Magic 8.0... Oh well,
that's the way it works. If GOD didn't want me to buy Partition Magic 8.0,
he would've given me the answer sooner... It's just my daw-gone
impatients...
Thanks for the help everybody...
Thanks again,
Dan
