Does it come as standard with XP?
Is there an easy way to unload/remove/prevent it from loading?
I'm happy without seeing a preview of the page. In fact I very rarely
use it.
Cheers in advance
Dave F.
It is a Microsoft PowerToy.
It does not come standard with Windows XP.
It can be uninstalled via the Control Panel (Add or Remove Programs) -
"Alt-Tab Switcher Powertoy for Windows XP"...

How To Ask Questions The Smart Way
http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html
taskswitch.exe is a process belonging to Microsoft TaskSwitch Utility. It
provides the user with a way to switch between the application that are
running by using the Alt+Tab keys. This program is a non-essential system
process, but should not be terminated unless suspected to be causing problems.

I don't think so. It's not on my system.
Maybe it's one of Microsoft's Power Toys. I seem to remember one that
did that, and I tried it and didn't like it, so I uninstalled it.

And for those wondering, Vinod got that from:
http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/taskswitch/
Or one of the other many websites that keep databases of the tasks that
might be running on a computer and what they believe them to do.
You could have found this as well by simply using Google:
Search using Google!
http://www.google.com/
(How-to: http://www.google.com/intl/en/help/basics.html )
Specifically:
http://www.google.com/search?&q=taskswitch.exe
Where the link above and many more answers about this can be found.
For those wondering what answers were given to this thread over all:

Lifted word for word, without so much as an acknowledgment of the source
or a link to the source!
John
HA HA...Busted!!!!
Nothing new. Lots of so-called wannabe experts will plagarize
Microsoft's KB articles to pretend it is their own expertise. Rather
than not even bother quoting the article and just giving the link to
it, they want to bloat their ego.
He could have rewritten it in his own words, from memory, that would be
acceptable, but to copy and paste word for word without even a mention
of the source is pretty bad.
