I'm pretty happy with it. 37 PCs with Intel, VIA, and NVidia chipsets. No
problem yet.

Since you post no details, it makes you seem like a complainer.
You could try uninstalling SP-2 then follow the Service Pack
Installation Checklist prior to installing SP-2:
http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/spackins.htm

Also you could post details of your problems and most likely get a
solution.

Yup. It's an old VIA KT266a with Athlon XP. I even did it using Windows
Update website. Took me about an hour+ on a wirelessG but it works.

I've had no real problems except that it seems to have really screwed up
Explorer. I click on some links and nothing happens. It seems to be to do
with their new Anti-popup which seems active all the time even if I
de-activate it. (I think this is true as if I click on a link with the
control key down, it opens a new version of explorer sitting at my home
page!)

I'm certainly not a techie, but I had no problems with xp2. I waited for the
automatic download and install however. I wonder if these people downloaded
from some other site, or have some weird programs loaded?

No problems here. Of course I did follow the instructions pertaining to
doing a disk cleanup and defrag before installing SP2. I also uninstalled
Zone Alarm, just in case.

There are estimates out that the SP2 problems hits about 10% of PCs. Just
think about the millions of computers 10% represents in the US alone.

We will not be installing any more for a while to come.

A great many problems are prevented by preparation as you did, along
with the usual routine maintenance.
Others are overcome by learning to use the new features.
From there is left the mysterious 10% many of which could have been
prevented by simply performing steps similarly to what you did.
I wonder what the actual problem rate is on a properly maintained and
prepared computer?
My guess would be far less than 10%, but that is just my guess.

That's what I'd do. I certainly would not screw up the business, when
securing the computers on the network can be done quite well without SP2, no
matter what all the chicken little's are saying. The sky will not fall, if
you don't install SP2.

It is unforunate situation that so many people rely on MS to protect their
computers, instead of learning how to protect them without the help of
Microsoft. Hopefully the generation that's growing up with computers will
be a lot wiser than our generation that didn't.

But right now my computers have a greater threat, Hurricane Francis. Latest
forcast puts the eye of the storm right over me.

Got to start battening down the hatches, so I'll see ya'll after the storm
passes!

Waiting while researching possible issues is a good thing especially
for a business.
Since you are a business, hopefully you have been testing SP-2 for the
past several months to check for compatibility issues of your various
hardware and software.
Most of the businesses with few or no problems have been testing for
months and working out issues as they were detected.
Other than that a statistic of one is pretty thin to be of much value
unless you are also determining exactly what went wrong.
You should also be checking the various known issues and other
information from Microsoft and other sources for the specific hardware
and software on the various computers.

Believe me, we've been studying it.

We will *not* be installing SP2 anytime soon, if ever.

Went through that with Win2K SP4. Had to roll back to SP3, and that's where
they will stay.
