Unable to download the latest updates (6). I see an earlier post with
similar problems. Any ideas what may be happening?

Select, Start, Help and Support, Keep your Windows up- to-date with
Windows Update, Review your Update History. What is the Failure code.
Double click the small red icon in the Status column for the failed
update.

Hope this helps.

Jorge,
Found that if I turned off my antivirus (Nod32) all the updates installed ok
with the exception of KB956390. I then followed the advice of the following
solution I found elsewhere on this forum.

Download and install the update manually.
1. Download the update from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=4e73de2b-05e6-4901-9bac-46d8f469e635&DisplayLang=en

Please note its location.

2. Restart the computer.
3. Keep pressing the F8 key until the Windows Startup menu appears.
4. Choose "Safe Mode", and press "Enter".
5. Please install the update in Safe Mode.
6. Restart the computer to switch to Normal Mode.

GOOD LUCK!!

You need the specialist newsgroup for Windows Update. Let see if this
produces a reply.

Avast, Defender and SpywareBlaster.

I've now downloaded the updates manually, except for the one for Defender.

The computer runs fine and I am starting to think that the problem is with
the MS site.
