Moving picture files.

I am using xp home. I would like to know the correct (and
easiest ? ) way of moving picture files from a floppy disk
to My pictures (not hard drive ? )

Select the pictures in your floppy window, choose Edit|Cut, navigate to your
My Pictures folder and choose Edit|Paste.

thing I know that goes by the name "My pictures" is a folder on
your hard drive.

Assuming that you mean that folder, the ways to move files from a
diskette to a folder on the hard drive are identical, regardless
of what kinds of files they are or what folder it is. There are
several ways to do it: open each and drag from one to the other;
cut (or copy) and paste; right-click and use Send to; etc.
