The application or DLL C:\Windows\System32\VDMDBG.dll is
not a valid Windows image. PLease check this against your
installation diskette.
I did a system restore and it did not help the problem.
Any suggestions?

Type MSConfig in Start - Run then Expand File or
Type sfc /scannow in Start - Run
You'll need to be an admin.

then boot to xp cd and recovery console and change to
drive letter holding xp cd and expand d:\i386\vdmbg.dl_
c:\windows\system32\vdmbg.dll(d is the drive letter that
contains xp cd if yours is different use that letter)
having said that several viruses including klez cause
taskmanager not to open so i think cause is virus and
you need to run full system scan and remove virus.
