To eliminate physical causes, I open the box and disconnect all the
electrical connections and "short" the start up and it was able to go to
deskop. I was able to use it as usual. So, it seems there is nothing wrong
with the mobo but is there a tweak on the mobo for this kind of behaviour? Is
there a problem with the button??? Any ideas as how can I go aand use the pc
as per normal. Thanks.
If you push and hold the power button will the machine boot??

My guess is that your power supply is failing. When you disconnect
everything else, that lightens up the load on the power supply just
enough to keep it going. Power supplies have crowbar circuitry to shut
them down if their output is out of spec in order to protect the
electronics. I suppose it's also possible that one of your external
connections is feeding back voltage into the unit and tripping the
crowbar.

I have seen the power button behave like this on some desktops too.
As a matter of fact I have one.
I have perfected the special light touch it needs to make it behave.
Push it in too hard... arrg! I have to pry it back out with a sharp
pointy instrument until it clicks back out.
It has advantages, though - nobody else can power up my machine but
me.
The front panel connections is all fused into s "stud" and in fact if I read
the words/connection correctly, the original connection is connected to the
reset switch and there is no wire to the power switch. (am quite sure I
interpret correctly).
Will try to see if anything get stuck at the switch button, have to open
the delicate front casing.
Many thanks for the ideas and will try, owise its useless this pc... thansk
