Does XP include a program that allows the remote control of other
computers on the LAN?

I "had" a program that worked beautifully in 98 SE - "NETOP". When I
try to install it in XP, it "explodes" and a BSOD comes up and CHKDSK
cleans up the mess and stuffs the "junk" in a directory that can be
deleted. Great for XP.

Are there any other programs that do this in XP?

Sure is Weldon, and it is build right in too. Remote Assistance, and if
running professional, a slightly beefer version as well (think Terminal
Server Client) called Remote Desktop Connection.

Both work better than great, and I count on them every day.

Thanks, will check it out.

Can an XP PRO machine access a 98 SE machine on the LAN?

Yikes! Forgot about that part, Remote Administration mode only works XP to
XP. If you want to control an Windows 9x/NT machine you have to use a third
party util.
