Sorry I don't know.

A bug in what? The installation routine for a program sets up the uninstall
capabilities. Add/Remove programs is just an interface to access what the
program provides.
Have you done a thorough check for malware? What tools did you use? In any
event here are some links for dealing with malware, though I don't know so
I'm not opining on whether it is or isn't.

I don't know if you have looked through these but just in case not here are
some Google searches on Gdiplus Update (two words). Searching on
Gdiplusupdate (one word) doesn't yield much.

The bug is that my windows search tool can't find anything other than GDI
(two files) which obviously have to do with the graphics in windows. And the
other bug is that the add or remove programs list has a listing without any
other information than the name (GdiplusUpgrade), "used" and "rarely" and
that is it.
The knowledge base on how to remove programs that appear on the list even
after you uninstall them doesn't work because it says go to the registry for
software>windows>current version, and there is nothing there that says
"current version" to work with.
Why is it in question????
if you just noticed it, then maybe it isn't a problem, maybe you're
just paranoid? You wouldn't be the only one...
if you don't like it, remove it....
I tried going to knowledge base.
What do you suggest?
Thanks !
