When I run Belarc Advisor it indicates that KB926247 needs to reinstalled.
I have tried to reinstall after removing but it will not let me, tried
several ways.
A popup says there is a problem "SP3-UBER" It list
c:\win\system32\XPsp3res.dll is part of the problem ?
The version I have in sys32 is 5.1.2600.3268. I notice xpsp3res.dll is
located in several different places with different vers.
System restore reinstalls KB926247.
Would someone check the vers of xpsp3res in System32 and post it ?
Thanks
Fred

SNMP is an optional component in Microsoft Windows 2000, in Windows XP, and
in Windows Server 2003. Windows Update offers this security update only if
the SNMP component is installed on the computer [despite what Belarc Advisor
may be telling you].

Reread your post:
>>> Actually the update is KB14440
In any event, KB914440 is not a security update. It can be downloaded for
manual install here:

1. You started this thread on Sunday, 07 Sept-08, Fred:
http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windowsxp.general/msg/2a5dd46291c9b2eb
2. You made no mention whatsoever of KB914440 until earlier today (Thursday,
11 Sept-08):
http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windowsxp.general/msg/52b55820bc2177c5
3. KB914440 is not a security update.
4. If you have WinXP SP3 or IE7 or IE8 Beta installed, the Network
Diagnostics utility might not install. According to your previous threads
in WinXP General and IE General newsgroups, you had IE7 installed as
recently as June 2008 and posted about installing WinXP SP3 in early May
2008.
Please post any error messages encountered (i.e., when you attempt to
install the Network Diagnostics utility) in their entirety.
