Some time ago, I read somewhere on the net on how to prevent Windows XP from
installing built in video card drivers. I don't remember where I saw that
and I've been wanting to know how to do this. I'm using Windows XP Pro w/
slipstreamed (integrated install) Service Pack 1. My video card is a
Gainward GeForce4 Ti4400 and the card is easily recongnized by XP and as a
result, version 29.58 Microsoft Corporation drivers are installed. These
are the drivers that are integrated in the OS and I want to know how to
prevent them from installing at all.
TIA,
veloman.

Seems like you don't want v29.58 of the drivers installed. Just update them or
see if you can find a site that will tell you how to slipstream the updated
drivers into your slipstreamed XP disc.

If you install more recent drivers from the manufacturer, WinXp won't over-write them.
