If these are 16 bit apps then you'll need the "DOS Windows on Windows
Support" component.

There is a registry area in XPPro that controls some printing properties,
some font proerties and screen saver properties that is not completely
incorporated into an Embedded build.

It is under:
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/WindowsNT/CurrentVersion/IniFileMapping
export that section from XP Pro and import it into XP Embedded.

it solves a lot of problems encountered such as:
No default printer loaded
Can't print or select printer
Screen saver doesn't start
Some fonts don't show up in applications
and network.drv not found

Hi Andy,
I do have the "Dos Windows on Windows" component.I was
reading through the other postings in this newsgroup and
found that "cannot find network.drv" is actually a bug on
XPe and is being debugged. Is that right?

Now network.drv is the alias for wfwnet.drv and I could
find that wfwnet.drv and the corresponding registry
entries are available in the image I made. Also, when you
get this error, if you close the application which gives
the error and tries again, everything is fine.
So could this actually be a bug?

Thanks
Padma

We created a component that renames wfwnet.drv to
network.drv and then include that component into your
build. Since we have done this all problems with
Network.DRV file have vanished.

Good Luck
