network.drv ?

what is network.drv and why does it pop uop and say that it can't find it
when I'm installing hardware on a XPe system? I mena just hit ok and the
install goes fine . I mena it really just a nussance. anyone know what
casues it?

It is for the 16-bit WOW subsystem - some installers are 16-bit for
compatibility reasons, and complain about the missing driver. I think
there might be a way via an .INI file to reference "wfwnet.drv", which
is already copied to the system as part of the WOW component.
However, I just make a copy of wfwnet.drv as network.drv, and the
errors disappear - a waste of only 14KB. Someone recommended that fix
on this newsgroup several months ago, and it works like a charm...

Modify the system.ini file located in %\WINDOWS folder
and add the line:

network.drv=c:\windows\system32\wfwnet.drv
