HELP! PLEASE! This is driving me nuts, and I can't find
any reference to it on the msKB: I want my 'My Pictures'
folder view to be Thumbnails and my 'Control Panel' view
to be Icons. The Control Panels' Folder Options-View-
'Remember each folder's view settings' option is
checked/on. However, when I set thumbnails view for the My
Pictures folder, it somehow is transferred to the Control
Panel View and overwrites the Control Panel's Icon view
(and the Control Panel window size becomes the same size
as that of the last-closed Windows explorer window), all
when I close Windows Explorer. Converesly, if I have My
Pictures view set to Thumbnails and then change the
Control Panel view BACK to Icons, it gets tranferred to
the My Pictures folder when I close Control Panel such
that after I close and then reopen Windows explorer and
navigate to the My Pictures folder, it now has the Icon
view instead of the previously set Thumbnails view. Any
ideas? Thanks to one and all. HELP!!! PLEASE!!!

R. Fodor,
DelStreamsMRU
http://members.home.net/winhelp98/download.htm
Removes the saved info on Desktop items and Folder Views.
Use DelStreamsMRU when Explorer no longer remembers the folder views
selected.

I tried what the delstreams approach and only had partial
luck. I don't remember exactly where I found this, but
it seems to resolve 99% of the problem. Only
occassionaly do I have to reset my views, but that
happened sometimes in Windows 98 too.

Folder Views Won't Stick

Open regedit
Backup
1.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\
BagMRU]

2.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\
Bags]

Then delete both keys and restart windows.

Live easier!! I know how maddening this problem is.
