In internet explorer and all other explorer windows my
tool bars have gone to a black background. I can see the
writing (if the color allows) and the symbols for back,
forward, favorites, etc. I recently tried to install a
new shell style to windows resources file. When it didn't
work I deleted the files. I'm thinking I may have deleted
something else that was needed. I've tried changing to
other shell styles(winXP silver, green blue and classic)
with the same problem. I've done virus scans, refraged and
played with any setting in the display properties I could
think of. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

The first one should correct the issue. The second is to set the toolbars
to default. You may not even need it.

I am trying to show the Address bar in Windows Explorer
for XP home edition. I see you have an executable to fix
this, but I can't download an executable to this
computer.

When I enable the Address bar, I see the label for it
over on the right of the Explorer window, but I can't
seem to move it to display the Address bar itself.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Michele

Michelle,
Right click anywhere on the toolbar and uncheck "lock the toolbars". Try
moving the address bar after this.
