In the past I used windows 98. When I typed in an " and
after this een e or an a automaticaly the character ë or ä
where given.
No I use XP but I can not get this option activated. I
know it should be possible. Does someone know how to do
this?

Of course Nicky, one has to install the International US keyboard before these keys work. A standard US keyboard (which is the keyboard for English speaking countries that use dollars) these keys do not work. You set the keyboard in Regional and Language Options in Control Panel.
