i have 4 users on my XP machine, but only 2 of them ever do the email
notification thing on the login screen. where are the settings to
enable/disable/properties for this feature????

You can disable this (for each user, of for all of them) with TweakUI.
Do a search for Powertoys For XP on Microsoft's website. TweakUI is part
of that.

hmmm....before i got tweakuiXP it was still doing it for 2 users, but not
the other 2, shouldn't there be a way other than tweakui then?

Dunno for sre,but it might be related to Hotmail. Do the 2 users who get
the notifications have a hotmail account set up?

update to windows messenger 4.6 and dont do the MSN add-on and you unread
email will not show on welcome screen...
