This is probably one of the stupidest questions you will
ever be asked....but how do you delete a screensaver? I
know how to get rid of themes and wallpapers and all that
other display stuff, but I really don't know how to
delete a stupid screensaver! It's not that the
screensaver's messing up the computer or anything...I
just want to get rid of it. I will deeply appreciate any
instructions I recieve on how to fix my problem. Thanks.

Windows/System32 look for *.scr files. Delete the one you want (it's usually
the same name as in the display settings list).
Note that some downloaded screensavers are installed and can be removed in
add/remove programs from control panel. I would look there first.

Hi Michelle,
If you are trying to delete a Windows XP screensaver (the ones that come
with XP) then everytime you delete it from the system32, it will be replced
by the system file protection utility. To avoid this, delete the screensaver
by booting into safe mode. How to boot into safe mode ?? Well, right after
your BIOS POST, press the F8 key and you will see a startup menu. Choose
safe mode. Post back if you have any problems.
