themes do not work

hi, i was downloading a couple of themes and visual styles from the
www.themexp.org - website. everything was working just fine, untill now. i
did not really change anything, other than just trying out all different
types of styles (.msstyles and .theme). now when i want to change it to a
style i downloaded, the preview just shows the frame but no buttons or
windows. and when i still klick on okay, the style i wanted comes in the
classical view. the buttons are all squary and old school.
i even rebooted the system twice, but still the same happening. please
somebody help me

i tried to do this, but i cant install this patch. it says "sorry cant patch
uxtheme.dll". do you have any ideas why? or what to do?

Hi Justine,

One more thing to try.

Go to Control Panel > System.

Click the Advanced Tab than under Preformance click Settings. On the bottom
of this list make sure that " Use visual styles on buttons and windows" is
checked. Than reboot and try to install the patch again.

If this does not work you may have to try using the program from TG Soft.
It uses the same patch but it places it in memory. My guess is that that
will not work either.
