Unlike Themes in Win9x and ME, themes in XP do not include presets for
sound schemes cursors, screensavers, etc. Instead, "themes" is a more
general term that refers to choosing a visual style - classic or XP. Sound
schemes, cursors schemes and screensavers need to be selected separately.

It's the default value of the registry key:
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes"
that stores the name of the current sound scheme.
